The Tenant Charter will communicate Toronto Community Housing's service commitments and set the accountabilities for all employees and all tenants of Toronto Community Housing.
To create the charter, we have consulted with employees and tenants. This included a survey and open consultations in the spring of 2016 and a Tenant Charter Advisory Committee made up of tenants and employees who met a total of 15 times to draft the charter. The charter, previously referred to as a resident charter, is now referred to as the Tenant Charter based on feedback at the consultations and a decision made by the Tenant Charter Advisory Committee.
We shared a first draft of the charter with the Resident Services Committee of the Board of Directors on September 23, 2016. The Tenant Charter Advisory Committee had three final meetings to create a new and shorter version of the charter.
