Tenant Consultation Sessions: Improving the tenant human rights process at Toronto Community Housing

TCHC has started a new project to improve the way that we receive, investigate and resolve tenant Human Rights concerns at TCHC.

Update (January 2024): The new interim Tenant Human Rights Complaint Procedure is now in place. To learn more, visit Tenant Human Rights Complaints.

Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) is launching a new project to improve the way we receive, investigate and resolve tenant Human Rights concerns at TCHC. The end result of the project is to develop a centralized, proactive, equity-focused response to tenant Human Rights issues.

As part of this project, we are updating our Human Rights policy and process (PDF). We want your feedback to make sure that the policy works for tenants. This policy is also related to the Tenant Complaint Procedure related to Human Rights (PDF).

Consultations

In June, we held a series of regional consultations to get tenant feedback. On Thursday, August 3, we held an online consultation and you can view the online session presentation slides (PDF).

What did we discuss at the consultations?

We asked for tenant feedback on the following questions:

  • What works in the current Human Rights policy and processes?
  • What doesn’t work in the current Human Rights policy and processes?
  • What can make the Human Rights policy and processes better?

This consultation is not intended for personal Human Rights complaints. If you have Human Rights concerns or requests for accommodations with your tenancy, you should contact the Client Care Centre at 416-981-5500. You can also submit a complaint through our feedback form.
