TCHC completes transition of all contract-managed properties

TORONTO, May 4, 2022—Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) has successfully completed a multi-year project to transition to direct management all contract-managed properties in its portfolio.

TCHC has transitioned to direct management 12,196 units in 57 developments formerly managed by Del Management Solutions (Del) and Greenwin, as part of its restructuring plan to deliver services closer to where tenants live. TCHC recently transitioned 8,365 units in 33 developments, after transitioning 3,831 units in 24 developments in 2020.

  • 8,365 units in 33 contract-managed properties were transitioned to TCHC's East Region, Central Region and Seniors Housing Unit in 2022.
  • 2,502 units in nine developments were transitioned from Greenwin to Central Region.
  • 4,870 units in 21 developments were transitioned from Del to East Region.
  • 993 units in three seniors-designated buildings were transitioned from Del to the Seniors Housing Unit.
  • 3,831 units in 24 developments formerly managed by Del were transitioned to TCHC's West Region in 2020

TCHC informed each affected household about the transition and, in partnership with Del and Greenwin, strove to make the transition as seamless as possible to ensure minimal or no interruptions to service delivery.

QUOTES:

"We are pleased to be providing direct services to TCHC tenants in the former contract-managed buildings. With this change, we are now providing customer service to all tenants through our 'one-stop' Tenant Service Hubs in our East, Central and West regions, and the innovative Integrated Service Model for the three seniors buildings moved to the Seniors Housing Unit."

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to our longtime partners Del Management Solutions and Greenwin for their service to our tenants, and to all our TCHC staff who have worked to make the transition as seamless as possible for tenants."

—Jag Sharma, President and Chief Executive Officer, TCHC
