ConnectTO: Free Wi-Fi in Common Areas
Tenants in several Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) and Toronto Seniors Housing (TSHC) buildings now have access to free Wi-Fi in common areas. With access to free internet, tenants can easily check information, use online services, and stay connected. This program is in partnership with and funded by the City of Toronto.

The ConnectTO service is designed to be easy to use and available where you already spend time in your building.
What’s included:
Free Wi-Fi available in common areas, like lobbies, rec rooms and laundry rooms
No cost to TCHC/TSHC tenants and their visitors
No sign-up or password needed
Reliable and secure connection
Where it’s available:
Twenty-four TCHC/TSHC buildings currently have Wi-Fi
Nine more buildings are in progress
How to connect to Wi-Fi
Go to a common area in your building.
Open your connection settings to see available networks.
Select the network called: TO Public network.
A page displaying the City of Toronto’s Public Wi-Fi Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy will appear. If the page doesn’t appear right away, try opening your web browser.
Review the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
Select I Agree to accept.
You’re now connected to free Wi-Fi!

We know how important internet access is to connect, learn, and succeed.
TCHC has partnered with Rogers to offer Connected for Success, a high-speed, affordable internet service for subsidized tenants, seniors and individuals receiving disability and income support.
If you are a tenant of Toronto Community Housing, you qualify for the Rogers Connected for Success program.

Questions and answers
Where will the Wi-Fi be available in my building?
Access to free Wi-Fi will only be available in common areas, like the lobby or rec rooms. Tenants will not be able to use it in their units.
Is there a cost to tenants?
No, the Wi-Fi service in common areas is free to use for all tenants and their visitors.
Is my personal information collected?
Users will not be asked for personal information. You do not need a password to access the service.
Will this change building security or access?
No, the Wi-Fi service does not change who can enter the building. Only tenants and their invited guests can access the buildings as usual.
Is the Wi-Fi safe?
The Wi-Fi technology meets health and safety standards. There is no evidence that Wi-Fi causes harm when used as intended.
Does this involve 5G technology?
The service uses standard Wi-Fi and follows all safety rules set by health experts.
