Rent Geared-to-Income (RGI) Housing
About 93% of tenants pay a subsidized rent. This is called Rent Geared-to-Income (RGI). Your rent is determined by your income.
There is a waiting list for this type of housing. The waiting list is managed by Housing Connections. Housing Connections provides consistent, fair and quality access to RGI housing in Toronto. Visit Housing Connections for more information.
How to apply for RGI housing:
If you are interested in subsidized housing, you must apply to Housing Connections. You will not receive subsidized housing any faster by taking a market rent unit with Toronto Community Housing.
Market Rent
Toronto Community Housing has units available for singles, families and seniors who can afford to pay market rent rates. Market rent rates are not subsidized.
If you are interested in living in a market rent unit at Toronto Community Housing, you need to submit an application for market rent, found below.
If you have insufficient income and you need someone to guarantee your rent, please read and submit the guarantors form with your application.
