Big appliances need more energy


Large appliances that produce heat or are used for cooking should always be plugged directly into a wall outlet.

If it’s damaged, toss it


Never use or try to repair damaged electrical cords.

Power off to be safe


Unplug hair dryers, irons and other small appliances when not in use.

Don’t use too many cords


Don’t overload extension cords, power bars or wall outlets.
