YouthWorx is a comprehensive employment program that focuses on employing young people between the ages of 14 and 29 as Youth Community Workers. The program is designed to reduce barriers to employment for youth, many of whom are affected by multiple barriers to traditional employment opportunities (e.g. underemployed, , etc.).

Youth Community Workers are hired for 8 weeks during the months of July and August in various, small-scale labour jobs, including community clean ups, light repair jobs, community gardening and beautification (weed pulling, shrub pruning, etc.) and painting. In addition to employment, youth are also provided with the opportunity to enhance their capacity in employment-related, as well as personal, professional and leadership areas of growth.

For 2021, all COVID-19 protocols will be followed, including smaller groups, physical distancing, and use of personal protective equipment.

To adjust for current COVID-19 restrictions, prep sessions and interviews will be done online. Interested candidates can register for one of the following recruitment sessions through the EventBrite link listed.
