Engaging tenants on Tenants First

Engaging tenants on Tenants First

City Council adopted the Tenants First – A Way Forward for Toronto Community Housing and Social Housing Toronto report (PDF) in 2016. The report recommended that the City of Toronto create a TCHC Resident Advisory Panel to help guide the implementation of the Tenants First plan.

Panel members include 13 TCHC tenants who represent a broad range of geographic and demographic diversity, as well as knowledge, experience and community interest.

Upcoming meetings

The Tenants First Project staff and the Tenants First Tenant Advisory Panel members hosted four meetings for tenants in the summer of 2019. All tenants were welcome to attend one of these meetings.

The purpose of these meetings was to:

  • inform tenants of the proposed changes to governance, mandate and accountability frameworks for Toronto Community Housing; and
  • consult with tenants on opportunities to be involved in future work.
