City Council adopted the Tenants First – A Way Forward for Toronto Community Housing and Social Housing Toronto report (PDF) in 2016. The report recommended that the City of Toronto create a TCHC Resident Advisory Panel to help guide the implementation of the Tenants First plan.
Panel members include 13 TCHC tenants who represent a broad range of geographic and demographic diversity, as well as knowledge, experience and community interest.
The Tenants First Project staff and the Tenants First Tenant Advisory Panel members are hosting four meetings for tenants in the summer of 2019. All tenants are welcome to attend one of these meetings.
The purpose of these meetings is to:
- inform tenants of the proposed changes to governance, mandate and accountability frameworks for Toronto Community Housing; and
- consult with tenants on opportunities to be involved in future work.
To learn more about these meetings, please visit the City of Toronto's Tenants First Implementation Updates website.
To attend the meetings, please register with the Tenants First Project Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 416-392-8239. TTC tokens will be provided. Please contact the Tenants First Project Team in advance to request American sign language (ASL) or other language interpretation, child care, attendant care or other accommodation.
