Rent-geared-to-income is sometimes referred to as subsidized rent or housing.
- About 89 per cent of Toronto Community Housing tenants pay rent-geared-to-income. Rent-geared-to-income is about 30 per cent of your gross income.
- There is a waiting list for this type of housing. The waiting list is managed by the City of Toronto.
How to apply
If you are interested in applying for rent-geared-to-income, you must apply through to
Rent-Geared-to-Income Subsidy program at the City of Toronto.
Please note: You will not receive subsidized housing any faster by applying for and taking a market-rent unit with Toronto Community Housing.
