Wayne Tuck joins Toronto Community Housing as Chief Operating Officer

TORONTO, April 13, 2016�Wayne Tuck, an experienced property management and real estate executive, is Toronto Community Housing�s new Chief Operating Officer. The board of directors approved a one-year contract appointment on March 24, and Wayne joined the company on March 29.
Reporting to Greg Spearn, President and Chief Executive Officer, Wayne will be responsible for leading the company�s day-to-day operations. He will oversee the business units responsible for property management, capital repairs, demand maintenance, resident engagement, resident access and support, and community safety.�
Wayne has nearly two decades of senior-level experience in the multi-residential apartment, commercial real estate, retirement home, student housing and hotel sectors in Canada and the United States. He joins Toronto Community Housing from Centurion Apartment REIT, where he spent the past four years as Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer.�
In 2016, the business units led by Wayne will deliver a record $250-million capital repairs program and more than 400,000 demand maintenance repairs, and implement new customer service standards, an updated complaint management process and a first-ever resident charter. Wayne will also put in place robust key performance metrics and tracking systems for the company�s operations. �
The Chief Operating Officer position had been vacant since January 2014, and Toronto Community Housing has operated with an interim leadership structure since April 2014. The interim structure will remain in place pending the City of Toronto�s report on implementing the recommendations of the Mayor�s Task Force, expected to be presented to City Council for approval in late fall 2016. �
