On Friday, August 04, Toronto Raptors Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach Alex English stopped by the Scarlett Manor Recreation Centre to read with 60 children aged 6 12 years old and teach them some basic basketball fundamentals.

The Basketball Hall of Famer and 11th all time scorer explored some popular childrens fables with the children, helping to identify some the positive messages from the stories under the theme of practicing fun and interactive leisurely reading.

The second half of the day focused on basketball skills development with the coach sharing some tips on how he became one of the NBAs most heralded jump shooters. He promised to come back next year to visit to his new friends at York Weston.
