Board approves Toronto Community Housing’s first-ever Tenant Charter

May 02, 2017

Through consultations with staff and tenants over the past year, we have written Toronto Community Housing’s first-ever Tenant Charter. The TCHC Board of Directors approved the charter on April 25. Now we are moving to the implementation phase, which includes training with staff and tenants.

The Tenant Charter will:
encourage transparency
communicate our service commitments
outline how staff and tenants work together
outline how staff and tenants communicate
ensure consistency across all Toronto Community Housing properties

It will also serve as a point of reference when handling service requests or complaints. Staff and tenants are expected to adhere to the promises made in the Tenant Charter; this will be an opportunity to meet expectations and help maintain positive relationships with tenants.
