The 2015 Tenant Representative elections will be on Thursday, March 26. An advance poll will be held on Friday March 20.
Successful candidates of the Tenant Representative elections will start a new term in April.
All Tenant Councils have now come to a close and spending is on hold until the new Tenant Councils are in place in April. Current Tenant Representatives will have their term end on January 31.
In February, Toronto Community Housing staff will hold information meetings in communities across the city to explain the process for the March 26 elections.
Toronto Community Housing encourages all residents to attend the meetings in their community. The schedule for the meetings will be provided soon on our website and in posters at all buildings.
The upcoming Tenant Representative elections will help keep Toronto Community Housing accountable to residents for the quality of the housing and services. It is also part of the process of developing the refreshed Resident Engagement System.
While the elections take place, Toronto Community Housing will continue to work with residents on improving and refreshing the engagement system. Toronto Community Housing has developed a framework for the refresh based on consultations with residents in 2013. A working group consisting of six Toronto Community Housing staff will be expanded to include 12 resident members.
Residents will be invited to volunteer to join the working group, and there will be a fair, open and transparent process to select the resident participants.
