Statement from Toronto Community Housing

June 27, 2020

TORONTO, June 27, 2020—Toronto Community Housing has issued the following statement from Chief Development Officer Vincent Tong condemning the racist act perpetrated on a construction site in Regent Park.

"Toronto Community Housing is committed to eliminating anti-Black racism and we are outraged and disgusted by this despicable and cowardly act. There is no place for racism or discrimination of any kind in Regent Park or in our city.

"Regent Park is one of Toronto's most diverse communities and the success of the revitalization has been built on the values of social inclusion, equity, diversity and safety for all. We urge anyone with information about this hate crime to contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers."
