Statement from Toronto Community Housing regarding stabbing at 200 Wellesley St. East

​​​​Toronto Community Housing has issued a statement regarding the fatal stabbing that occurred at 200 Wellesley St. E. early this morning.

"Violence in the community affects everyone who lives in and works at Toronto Community Housing. Our staff are in the community working alongside our partners to assist residents who require support.

"Our Community Safety Unit continues to work closely with Toronto Police Service to assist them with their investigation and we have provided them with security camera footage from the building.

"Recognizing that this building has particular challenges, we provide access control from 11 a.m. to 7 a.m. through security in the lobby.

"While this incident occurred within an apartment, we urge residents and anyone who may have information about this crime to report it to the police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477)."
