Toronto Community Housing has released the following statement concerning the situation at 14 Blevins.
Toronto Community Housing has reached a mediated settlement with Candice McGowan, a tenant living in our building at 14 Blevins.
This settlement will allow for Ms. McGowan to be relocated to another available Toronto Community Housing unit. Under the settlement, Ms. McGowan has consented to having the for-cause eviction proceedings that have been underway since February 2013 transferred to her new unit. This will allow the hearings at the Landlord and Tenant Board on these matters to continue.
This settlement upholds the best interests of the entire Regent Park community and will allow the demolition of 14 Blevins to proceed immediately.
Toronto Community Housing will make no further comment on this matter.About Toronto Community Housing
