September 30, 2013

Last week, residents of Toronto Community Housing's Lawrence Heights and Neptune communities celebrated recipients of the community's first scholarship program. At an awards ceremony held at the Columbus Centre, 21 residents of all ages were awarded scholarships to pursue postsecondary education or training for the 2013/14 academic year.

The Building our Future: Limitless Heights Scholarship program provides financial support for postsecondary education to resident leaders who have made significant contributions to the community and shown academic excellence.

The importance of the scholarship program was highlighted by current and former residents of the community, who spoke about their experience growing up in the community.
