Residents asked to use less electricity

Residents asked to use less electricity

July 09, 2013

Yesterdays severe weather has caused damage to the power distribution systems serving the City of Toronto. Approximately 50,000 households across Toronto are currently without power. Toronto Hydro is working to restore power to affected customers.

Residents are asked to help reduce the strain on the grid by limiting their electricity use. This includes turning off lights in rooms you are not in, reducing the use of your air conditioner and appliances, and turning off or unplugging any electronic devices you are not using.

For more tips on how to reduce energy use, visit Toronto Hydros website. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to restore hydro to all Toronto residents.
