The Province of Ontario has announced a program to compensate Ontario residents for food spoiled as a result of the ice storm. Information about the program is provided below.
Families in need are eligible to receive a $100 grocery gift card.
Individuals in need are eligible to receive a $50 grocery gift card.
You can collect a grocery gift card by visiting an Ontario Works office.
You must bring confirmation of your address and you will be asked to declare the number of people in their household.
Residents who are on Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program and are unable to reach an Ontario Works office can contact their caseworker directly.

In Toronto, the program begins Tuesday, December 31, 2013 and will end on Friday, January 3, 2014.
Offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 31 and January 3, with extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2014.
