Changes to the loss of eligibility (subsidy) review process

August 12, 2015

As of July 1, 2015, the City of Toronto Social Housing Unit has begun to review loss of eligibility (subsidy) decisions for Toronto Community Housing and Housing Connections.

Under the new review process, tenants requesting a review of a Notice of Decision-Loss of Eligibility for Rent Geared-to-Income Assistance (loss of subsidy) must complete the City of Toronto Request for Review form (PDF). This form will be included with the Notice of Decision, but can also be picked up at any Operating Unit office or can be downloaded from the residents section of the website.

The completed form can be dropped off in person or mailed directly to:

City of Toronto, Social Housing Unit
Attention: Review Body
365 Bloor St E., 15th Floor
Toronto, ON M4W 3L4
This form must be completed and delivered to the City of Toronto Social Housing Unit within 30 days after receiving the Notice of Decision-Loss of Eligibility for Rent Geared-to-Income Assistance.

Toronto Community Housing will still review the following rent geared-to-income (RGI) decisions:
  • amount of rent payable
  • size and type of unit that a household is eligible for
  • eligibility for accessible accommodations
To request a review of the above decisions, use the Toronto Community Housing Request for RGI Review form (PDF). This form can be picked up at any Operating Unit office or can be downloaded from the residents section of the website.
