TORONTO, March 19, 2019—Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) activated its emergency response plan this afternoon to assist tenants affected by a major fire at 607 The East Mall.

Toronto Community Housing thanks Toronto Fire Services for their effective response in putting out the fire, and thanks all first responders who attended to assist our tenants. Our thoughts are with those who were injured in the fire.

The safety and well-being of our tenants is top priority. We are cooperating fully with the investigation being conducted by Toronto Fire Services into the cause of the fire.
