In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing need for social distancing, TCHC will be holding its May 20 BIFAC meeting virtually. While the public portion of the meeting will be posted to TCHC's YouTube channel after the meeting, it will not be live streamed. We are continuing our work to identify and adopt measures that will provide for public attendance, in real time, at this type of virtual meeting, going forward. However, we are not presently able to do so. We hope to provide an improved approach at our next meeting on June 17. At the same time, we continue to value the input of members of the public to the matters that form part of our Board's Agenda.
If members of the public would like to depute to an agenda item on the May 20 agenda they have the option to do so by either:
- leaving a two (2) minute voicemail at 416-981-5993 which will be heard by the Board at its May 20 BIFAC meeting. Messages should include your name and identify the agenda item number to which your deputation relates. Given the limitations of TCHC's voicemail system, message recordings cannot exceed two minutes. If you would like to continue your deputation past the two minute recording limit, you may call back and leave a second message, up to a maximum of five (5) minutes; or
- submitting a written deputation to Sonia Fung at sonia.fung@torontohousing.ca which will be circulated to the BIFAC Committee members.
All deputation submissions will be made public after the meeting is held. Voicemail deputations will be part of the audio video record of the meeting that will be posted to TCHC's YouTube channel and written deputations will be posted with the meeting minutes. For this reason, please do not include personal information (like your phone number or address) in your deputation. Please note that individuals who elect to depute by voicemail can only leave one message for each item on the agenda for which they wish to depute; any additional messages on the same item will not be heard by the Board.
Deputations to the May 20 BIFAC meeting must comply with the requirements of TCHC's Deputation Policy. We expect deputations to be respectful towards tenants, stakeholders, Directors and TCHC staffs and deputations that do not comply with these requirements will not be considered by the Board.
The deadline for written and voicemail deputation submissions is Tuesday, May 19 at 4 p.m.
Thank you and stay safe.
