The Black Staff Caucus (BSC) is Toronto Community Housing’s first employee network. The BSC is a voluntary employee network comprising of unionized and non-unionized employees, with the aim to support Black employees at TCHC. The BSC is renowned for hosting signature events, such as TCHC’s annual Black History Month event, promoting employee engagement and creating awareness about Black culture.

The BSC is committed to working with Toronto Community Housing, Black employees, allies and community partners to advance issues of equity, anti-Black racism and anti-oppression within the organization and its communities. The BSC supports TCHC’s vision and aims to work collaboratively with the organization to achieve its vision and to promote TCHC as an equal employer and landlord of excellence.

The BSC is currently developing a strategic plan that will help advance the committee and to ensure that its vision of maintaining a positive environment for Black employees and tenants is upheld over the next several years.
