Hugh joined Toronto Community Housing in 2002. Since May 2019, he is the Business Lead on the Housing Management Enterprise System (HoMES) project team and his role is instrumental in leading the organization through a transformational initiative which will drive process improvement and efficiency and enable us to better serve our tenants. He represents the interests of all TCHC business functions and provides overall solution oversight.
Hugh previously served as the Acting Vice-President, Tenant Community Services and helped to drive the necessary consultations and changes to finalize a refreshed model for TCHC's Tenant Engagement System. Since 2002 he has been responsible for Toronto Community Housing's strategic planning, performance reporting, policy management, stakeholder and inter-governmental relations as Director, Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Relations.
Hugh has worked in housing for over 30 years and has been involved in property and tenancy management, housing development, sector agencies, and policy and legislative development. Before starting with Toronto Community Housing, Hugh worked as the Manager of Policy in the Social Housing section at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Ontario. Hugh has also worked at the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association and the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto, where he was responsible for developing over 2,000 units of co-operative housing. He is a board member of Rooftops Canada and the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association.
