​​In October 2010, Ana was elected into her current role as ​City Councillor for Ward 18, ​where she is a dynamic and energetic voice for women, low-income families and new Canadians. Serving for the past two years as Vice-Chair of the Planning and Growth Committee, Ana has been heavily involved in promoting a city design that serves our business, residential ​and social needs. This enthusiasm and experience will be carried into her new role as Vice-Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee.

Ana is also Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee where she is responsible for bringing the private sector together with non-profit organizations to address Toronto's growing demand for affordable housing. By co-opting business principals and community activism, Ana continues to build more engaged, more prosperous and more sustainable neighbourhoods in our City.

In 2011, Ana Bailã​o was appointed by City Council to Chair the Special Working Group to respond to investigate new partnerships and innovative solutions to the single-family homes repair backlog. This report was released to the public on September 17th, 2012 and received overwhelming support from City Council on October 30th, 2012.
