Toronto Community Housing Staff Get Trained in Green

Toronto Community Housing staff will have green elements built into their community training plan courses. Green training covers topics such as:

  • global warming and how it affects the places we live and work
  • energy use
  • water conservation
  • smog
  • climate change

Training will also include tips on how we can all find ways to improve our environment. It is all about making Toronto Community Housing a better place to live and work.

Greening our Offices

Staff at CHU 5 - Scarborough Warden are excited about the program and are very enthusiasticToronto Community Housing has just launched a new Green Office program to help us reach the green goals set out in the Community Management Plan 2007-2009.

The Green Office program is based on changing our everyday behaviours in a way that makes us more green. It is simple – using stairs, turning off equipment when we leave the office, walking or biking to work, using coffee mugs instead of styrofoam cups, only printing reports and e-mails that are absolutely necessary.

It’s about making choices that are better for us and better for the environment. Little steps go a long way.
