  • Don't set your thermostat at a colder setting than normal when you turn on your air conditioner. It will not cool your home any faster and could result in excessive cooling and, therefore, unnecessary expense.
  • Set your thermostat as low as is comfortable in the winter and as high as is comfortable in the summer.

The City of Toronto has announced that Toronto Community Housing is among 33 finalists nominated for one of 11 Green Toronto Awards.

Toronto Community Housing is committed to being an environmental leader and requires all contractors and suppliers to contribute to the success of environmental initiatives as a requirement in their contract from the time they are retained until the contract is completed.

My Community Recycles One of the key strategies of Toronto Community Housing’s Green Works program is to increase recycling in our communities.  This has also become a key priority for the City of Toronto, with Council recently approving a plan to increase diversion in the City to 70% by 2010. Toronto Community Housing has been developing resources to support tenants and community staff efforts to improve recycling in their communities.
