200 Wellesley St. East Tenant Update: 11:30 am
Building Security and Re-entry - All apartment doors and locks have been secured. Cleaning crews are working around the clock on hallways and common areas. The building has not been cleared for re-entry yet.
Ontario Works & Ontario Disability Support Program - Staff are available at the Wellesley Community Centre to answer questions.
Clothing & Toiletries - Residents can take their yellow registration cards to 519 Church Street (Church Street Community Centre, north of Wellesley) to pick up donated clothing including new socks and underwear, outdoor clothing and toiletries.
Temporary Accommodations - Most residents who were housed in shelters at the Wellesley Community Centre and U of T have been moved to hotels, furnished apartments and other temporary accommodations. Residents received food vouchers for the week and TTC tokens. Residents who decide to leave hotelsmust check out at the hotel's registration desk.
Letters for employers and banks - Identification letters for employers, mail pick-up and banking are available at the Toronto Community Housing information table.
Mail Pick Up - Canada Post will be onsite between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Residents can pick up mail at the kitchen window with a Toronto Community Housing letter of identification and the yellow registration card.
Rent Collection for October - October rent will not be collected for 200 Wellesley Street East residents. Tenants who normally pay by automatic debit will be reimbursed.
After school programs - Rose Ave Public School is offering temporary after school programs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please call the school up until 4:30 p.m. at 416-393-1260 for more information.
Cars in the parking garage - Residents who have cars in the underground parking garage and have their car keys can visit the Toronto Community Housing information table to make arrangements with Toronto Police Services to take the car out of the garage or remove belongings.
Lockers - Residents who require a locker can visit the registration table at the Wellesley Community Centre.
Residents requiring medication - Please visit the medical information table if you are waiting for a prescription. Residents who require additional prescriptions are asked to contact their usual pharmacist for additional medication.
Residents requiring medical care - We are working to arrange for health care professionals to staff the medical room at the Wellesley Community Centre. If you have new symptoms, or your health has changed, please contact your primary care physician. Priority appointments will be made for 410 Sherbourne Clinic patients who are residents of 200 Wellesley Street. The clinic's phone number is 416 - 864 - 3096. If you do not have a primary care physician, please visit a local walk-in clinic for treatment.
Phones - A cell phone is available to use at the Toronto Community Housing information desk.
Scooter power recharging - People who use scooters can register the make and model at the Toronto Community Housing information table so we can get the right battery charger.
Pets - Toronto Animal Services continues to provide food and water to pets in the building. Toronto Animal Services is removing animals on a priority basis.
