Plan to raise $300 million for repairs receives Board approval Toronto Community Housing's Board of Directors has approved a phased plan to sell 706 costly-to-operate scattered units to raise some $300 million for capital repairs and create better quality housing for our 164,000 tenants.

Raising $335 million to improve housing state of repair On October 21, 2011, Toronto Community Housing's Board of Directors will consider a recommendation to sell 706 stand-alone housing units that are expensive to maintain and repair and dedicating the estimated $335 million in sales proceeds to a State of Good Repair fund that will be used strictly to pay for capital repairs.

These are two large blocks that front on Bathurst Street and Fort York Boulevard, at the northwest corner of Canoe-landing Park, east of Fort York and the future Garrison Creek city park.
