Annual Review 2005
Here's a look at some of the things we did in 2005...
-
We worked to improve service by rolling out a new system to track service requests called EasyTrac. In 2006 all tenants will have access to EasyTrac.
-
We listened and acted on tenant priorities with Tenant Reps and Tenant Councils and business planning meetings where tenants make decisions about their communities and TCHC as a whole. Tenants decided how to spend $9 million, 20% of our capital budget. We held a Tenant Forum on our accountability with over 400 attendees.
-
We continued to work on community safety with tenants, community partners and police on safety audits in 110 communities, Safe and Secure committees and investing $10 million in 16 communities to improve tenant's sense of safety. Community Safety Plans are in place in 62 neighbourhoods and we are partners in the Mayor's Community Safety Initiative.
-
We focused on youth through leadership training, scholarships, summer job fairs, youth employment and training programs, and worked with youth to start a youth council, a 'zine, participate in the arts and civic engagement. We opened two new community spaces at Chester Le and Pelham Park.
